Culinary Tourism Fair

1st Conference for Gastronomic Tourism:

From Theory to Practice on 26 and 27 November at the Congress Centre of TEI Athens

The 1st Conference in Gastronomy and Tourism will be organized by the Technological  Institute of Athens with the Chapter of UNESCO for Piraeus and Islands, supported by CEUCO and the Greek Union of Executive Catering Business.

The conference will be held under the auspices of the Ministries of Economy, Development, Tourism, Rural Development and Food, the South Aegean Region and the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece, concentrating in Gastronomic Tourism's substantial involvement in all industry sectors and aimed at further development.

The conference program is divided into two sections:

A) The academic approach and practice of Gastronomic Tourism with speakers who represent the entire industry.

B) Operators, Professionals and Academics who will attend the conference as speakers and listeners.

  1. Key note speakers of the conference are Roberta Garibaldi, (Scientific Director of East Lombardy, European Region of Gastronomy 2017, Certified Ambassador of the World Food Travel Association, Delegate of the Lombardy Region to SISTUR, Italian Association of Tourism Sciences) and Ms. Heidi Lazani Commission Head of "Culinary Region of Europe 2019" on the South Sea, Research Fellow and Director of the Regional Office for South Aegean.

2. A special scientific committee was set up for the conference, chaired by Professor Periklis Lytras and Mr. John Maronitis,
    Group President for Unesco Piraeus and Islands and a member of the World Federation Executive Council Clubs,
    Associations and Centres Unesco for Europe and North America.
